President

Kevin Segalla

Since founding the company, Segalla has built CFC into Connecticut’s premier entertainment production company. Segalla was previously a New York City-based independent film producer who spent twelve years as President of Platonic Films Inc. Selected credits include the 5 times BAFTA-nominated “Taliesin Jones” (aka “Small Miracles”), the Sundance winner “Streets of Legend” and Sony Pictures Classics’ “Whatever”. Segalla has produced long and short form for A&E, Nickelodeon, MTV and HBO as well as a host of commercials, music videos and short films.

 

Managing Director

Bruce Heller

Bruce Heller, CFC co-founder and partner oversees all studio production servicing, facilitates tax credit monetization, and works closely with partner, Segalla, on studio and facility expansion planning.

 

Heller formerly ran Meathouse Productions, Billy Bob Thornton’s production company, which was housed at Miramax Films in Los Angeles. Before that Heller worked in the motion picture talent department at the William Morris Agency. And previous to that, he worked in production on various television shows and features. Heller began his career working in New York for former Time Warner CEO Steve Ross. Heller’s producer credits include Paramount Pictures’ “The Bad News Bears,” “All the Pretty Horses” for Sony, “Waking Up in Reno” and “Daddy and Them”  both for Miramax and the independent films “The Badge” and “Chrystal.”

 

Managing Director

William Balber

Bill is the manager of day to day activity for our financial services subsidiary, CFC Capital.  He is responsible for expanding the tax credit monetization services beyond the bounds of the film industry and the company’s Connecticut footprint.

Bill comes to CT Film Center from Globex Capital Group, a commercial equipment financier specializing in the medical industry.  There he ran daily operations and was responsible for more than $20 million in financing annually for ten consecutive years.

 

Prior to Globex, Bill was an advertising Account Director at several prominent NY City firms, with diverse clients ranging from liquor and beer manufacturers (Johnnie Walker, Guinness Import Co.) to OTC pharmaceuticals (Theraflu, Triaminic) to tourism (Aer Lingus, Irish Tourist Board).

 

Locations Department Manager

Kodi Smith 

Kodi Smith heads CFC’s locations department, where he provides CFC’s production clients with turn-key production services, including (but not limited to) preliminary pre-scout location services with photographs, and helps them acquire production office, stage and construction space.  All of which is free to CFC production customers.

 

Operations Manager

Kristin Sampiere  

Kristin Sampiere is responsible for the internal operations of the company, and coordinates the CFC employment pool, which is available to CFC’s production clients free of charge.

 

Controller

Ellie Grosso

Ellie Grosso maintains CFC’s books, produces reports, manages tax filing and compliance, and coordinates activities with the company’s outside accountants.
